I have recently decided to pull the plug from msea and change over to GMS. After researching on which VPN to use, i have decided to go with NORD VPN. Unfortunately unlike most of the post here, which mention there is zero lag, no latency issue, smooth gameplay etc, its a different case for me. Not sure if I am doing anything wrong or if there is a specific setting i should be doing before playing it. To be more specific, i dont experience terrible lag, just a constant 0.5s to 1.5s delay. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!!
mudfish is really smooth. someone made a post on how to set it up recently and it’s worked well for me.
Nord has a constant delay when u interact with stuff like potions, runes, npc and stuff like that… But gameplay itself is fine. But mudfish and exitlag is far better at giving u a lower ping than nord
NordVPN is for security and that means high latency. Using Exitlag usually gives me around 180ms to 200ms (from SEA location).
From my testing, I received about 150 ping from using exitlag and using private internet access(another form of vpn) gives about 270 ping, so it’s about half. Currently using exitlag and no lag whatsoever
ExitLag currently have a offer on annual plan if you are willing to spend more abit for VPN ( also support alot of game ) and have a guaranteed smooth gameplay with 1-2 steps setting only
use the point that more toward to west

Connect to San Francisco specifically for NORD if you are connecting to US as the servers are located near the west

Hey. Revisiting this post as i recently moved to GMS from SEA. Using ExitLag and i have no lag, but it just seems very delayed? Get 110 - 120 ping connected to Sydney servers, but activating runes, looting and quest text boxes all seem delayed. Just wondering if this is normal?
Funnily enough, I started GMS 2 days ago using ExitLag. There was no issues until today just now when i tried to login. Couldn’t get past the Nexon Launcher. If I disconnect ExitLag and login to the launcher, it works. But connecting back to ExitLag would cause the Start Game button to be unusable because it throws a 403 (Access Forbidden?) error. My Nexon account wasn’t banned, the launcher just doesn’t let you login or start the game if the ExitLag is proxying the connection.
if anyone’s considering exitlag, they have a 3 day trial you can test out. btw if you vpn to thailand you can get 3 months for 10 sgd or 1 year for 35 sgd
