AppleTV + YouTube TV Is the only way I will never go back to cable or built-in OS

I had it and loved it at $49., but canceled after the rate increase. What is it, now $69?

Coming from PS Vue, I tried Hulu Live TV and then YouTube TV and was bitterly disappointed in both. I stuck with YouTube TV because the interface was the “least bad” but I had little issues (lack of multiview for sports, lack of “go back to last channel” function) that have now been addressed to some degree, so overall I’m happy with the service.

I’m annoyed that it basically costs the same as cable does now though. Loved the PS Vue pricing (which is probably part of the reason the service doesn’t exist any longer, lol.)

It was great at $35. Now, notsomuch.

I imagine how even more awesome it would be if YouTube apps were actually good on ATV.

Apple TV + YouTube TV Is the only way I will never go back to cable.

You’ll never go back to cable? All you did was replace traditional cable TV with cable TV that’s streamed over the Internet.

YouTube TV, Hulu Live, Fubo, Sling TV. They’re just a cable replacement services or cable TV 2.0

The Apple TV is the replacement for your cable box. YouTube TV is the TV service on your Apple TV cable box.

You guys try DIRECTV app? I think it’s pretty good

I didn’t mind it but it’s too expensive and I don’t watch enough live TV to justify it personally. It’s all streaming for me.

Same. I literally refuse to use any TV built in software. I will use my Apple TVs until they implode.

“This is the way”

I pretty much subscribe to YTTV for my access to TCM + their unlimited DVR.
If TCM ever becomes a full standalone Streaming service I would have no use for any bundle of channels.

That’s what we have and it works perfectly.

I just got rid of YouTubeTV. Realized I only put it on when I just needed something on. But I can’t justify $75 a month for that

YouTube TV is cable, you just changed providers.

Personally, I have no interest in paying carriage fees to channels I never watch - or, in the case of some of these nutjob right-wing propaganda outlets, are toxic to democracy.

I love that you can rearrange the order of the channels in the guide. Simple but brilliant.

If you’re an NFL fan, and are willing to pay for Sunday Ticket, YouTubeTV on Apple TV is quite good. Before YTTV, you had to bounce between apps to view Sunday Ticket games or local broadcasts, but YTTV makes it so transparent that my wife thought we didn’t need Sunday Ticket because all the games were right there. She was using it without realizing.

If you don’t care about sports then Philo is still the cheapest service.

I’ve been pleased, I went from paying $130 a month for cable/boxes to $73. Because I’m a first time user of YTTV they game me $15 off for the first 3 months making it $69 per month for the 1st year. Even at $73 per month I’m saving almost $700 per year. That almost covers my sports subscriptions: NBA League Pass, MotoGP, MotoAmerica, NFL Redzone and ESPN+.

Just wait till they remove that one channel that you watch all the time and I’m sure your tune will change…

I used to feel this way. Their rate increases were kind of ridiculous, though.

At some point, it pushes you to get an iPad or your MacBook, throw on Nord, and start :pirate_flag:

You can ditch AppleTV+ as well if you know how to sail the high seas
