For mobile Android OS devices, use OrBot VPN mode, there is nothing to deanonymize you as there is no personal data associated with the VPN (it is free and open source. Recommend you get it from F-Droid). Desktop, just use Qubes+Whonix OS (Linux distro), and you’re good to go. I don’t use iOS at all, so I cannot give advice there.

AFAIK, using a vpn other than one like Mullvad, would be a risk. I say this because mullvad lets you buy anonymously and doesnt log, and yada yada. . . I know you shouldnt use a VPN with Tor, but just pointing this part out. Any other VPN, idk if thye take such a stance with their policy. most countries dont allow vpn to opt out of logging, etc. Some require it!
