Brave should've teamed up with Mullvad or iVPN instead of this "Guardian VPN"

I was just checking their VPN. Brave users are mostly people who care about their privacy, why would such a person use a vpn from a company that is barely known to anyone and offers very high prices?

Firefox teamed up with Mullvad and released their VPN for a price that is even lower than the price listed for Mullvad itself, Brave should’ve done the same with Mullvad or ivpn.

This is probably business related situation. But if Brave chose Guardian as partner, I trust they did their due diligence about their privacy. Also Guardian code is open source.

Brave attracts people who care about their privacy, but not the kind that want to get super deep into it like Firefox does. Like let’s be real - Brave isn’t exactly a hardened browser fork like LibreWolf or Mullvad Browser. It’s just a hardened Chrome browser through and through.

But if you do trust Brave and check with dilligence, you’d see Guardian VPN isn’t a shitty VPN by any means. It’s just definitely not garnished with a reputation like Mullvad or iVPN or Proton.

So technically there’s no way they could’ve partnered with Mullvad because Firefox already did (Mozilla) and iVPN’s more or less a copycat of Mullvad (no disrespect but let’s be real). Brave’s got more of a philosiphy judging by the promotions to push the speed and memory saving features of the browser. I’m guessing they chose Guardian as their VPN partner for the exact same reason too. If you ask me they could’ve also gone with TorGuard.
