Just seen newsletter about upcoming browser extension for ProtonVPN. If I’m understanding this right, the plan is to develop stand alone VPN extension that can route just browser traffic through ProtonVPN using stand alone extension without any need for client to be installed? If true, that’s pretty cool.
I’m guessing you’ll have to login to account just the same and there will also be free servers. Should behave identical to dedicated app, right?

Sorry I cant help you with your question. But I am curious what is written in this newsletter, because I did not receive it (yet).
I was a user of ExpressVPN before switching to ProtonVPN. They also had browser extensions but they didn’t work as a stand-alone VPN app. They simply allowed us to do things like turning the VPN on/off or switching servers directly from the browser without opening the main VPN client.
I don’t know how the new browser extensions will be, but I expect something similar.
