Bug in MacOS 15.0 ? (VPN and P2P)

Hello,

I often use PIA VPN with 2 P2P softwares (Nicotine+ & qBittorrent). So I have to forward a port to allow others to access my sharings.

Everything was flawless, until I updated to MacOS 15.

It seems like I cannot use both these apps at the same time: when there is activity in qBittorrent, Nicotine+ disconnects and makes error message about internet connectivity. Closing qBittorrent and re opening Nicotine+ fix the problem.

I read that there was problems, specifically with networks and VPN concerning MacOS 15.

Am I facing a problem that is well known and should be fixed ?

Ports are meant for a single application. You shouldn’t have both apps using the same port

It’s a port forwarded in vpn, not in my router.

If not activated, impossible to have P2P exchanges… (you have to setup applications to connect through this port)

It worked flawlesly with previous MacOS version.

PIA doesn’t allow to configure multiple ports to multiple applications!

I had a problem with torrents not download in pia & macOS 15 plus transmission

The problem was a bug in sequoia , turning off the firewall in macOS fixed it , until Apple does a fix

After MacOS 15.0.1 update (and disabling firewall) my 2 P2P apps still cannot share the forwarded port from the VPN (which was not a problem with MacOS 14.x).

I have to use them one at a time, or the other is disconnected…

Firewall is active on my mac, i’ll give your solution a try :+1:t2:

Update to 15.0.1. Apple just fixed a bug in their firewall.

Turn firewall off then reboot computer , see if that works

So I updated to 15.0.1 this morning, still annoyed.

Disabled firewall and restarted, still annoyed…
