Bungie, why didn't you put a fast travel point to the North

Contrary to some people in here who’ve built up this fantasy in their minds as Bungie being this evil corporation who wish to suck player’s valuable seconds in order to “extend playtime”. The most likely answer I can see is due to the dialogue you get when riding your sparrow to the next location. Fast travelling would mean you likely miss the important interactions from your ghost. Even after the campaign there’s still dialogue like that occasionally. Of course, it could have been added after you play through it all. Though I’m not sure if they even have that functionality, maybe there isn’t a way yet of dynamically adding landing zones. Maybe (despite the time extension) working from home still makes it hard to add things like this.

To those saying that its because it is to extend playtime: Bungie plays the same game as us, they enjoy playing the same game as us. There’s no real reason they would deviously make the game more tedious in order to increase a statistic. At most, think Hanlon’s Razor.

So you can sit in a zone loading screen longer and contemplate on your decisions which brought you here

This expansion has 1000000 different problems, but imo this is not one of them.

Being able to actually Travel with your sparrow instead of having 12 different fast travel points close to everything, does actually give the feeling of being in a world that is alive, thing that so far I never experienced in any zone yet.

Never played d1 but heared the fast travels were quite rare. Was the overall feeling of each zone different? Do you actually still remember the way from one zone to another since years and miss those zones? Cause if so, too many fast travels could be one of the reasons why d1 zones felt “better” like I read many times around here

Yeah this is a killer. Longest trek we’ve had in the gam, to get up north!

Its like no sparrows on Mercury all over again

Why aren’t there more fast-travel locations? Why do I have to load into the planets? Why do I even have to hold the button to talk to vendors? Why isn’t this all just a menu I can operate from orbit? I’m just going to kill these enemies, why do they even bother putting them there? Just give me the loot. This loot sucks. Give me different loot. Here, I designed this gun. I’ll put a drawing of it on Reddit and describe the imagined lore behind it. Now *this* is good game design. That was fun. I’ll do another, better, different one. I’ll draw it on paper, the monitor is too bright.

And just like that, you realize you’re old, and you’d rather read a book than play a video game.

because they told us Europa was huge and want to maintain an illusion that it is…it is not that big at all

Spez is killing 3rd Party Apps and with it my desire to be on Reddit. old.reddit.com might soon be on the ol’ chopping block too. Adios muchachos.

On both Europa and Cosmodrome tbf

Yup. It’s annoying to have to drive around to get to it from the spawn location.

I would more ok with it if I could place a waypoint on the map so I could have relaliable directions on how to get there.

Oh no,

Now you have to always instant summon and ride your sparrow.

How unfortunate.

Heaven forbid we could choose where we set up camp

To keep the play times higher when everyone leaves the game because this expansion is horseshit?

So glad I got this trash on gamepass for free

its just a genius way to tickle out some more exciting moments of this masterpiece of an expansion

everytime i drove my sparrow from variks to the northen part of europa i questioned what i am even playing this for since they removed/sunset everything i had worked for previously without giving me anything else to look forward to

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pad your game out!

I dunno, the trek from southern to northern europa seems pretty… cool… I’ll just see myself out.

Yes! It’s so fucking annoying especially seeing all the missions start there.

Bump, please add one in

It’s to make the world map bigger than it seems by requiring you to traverse on foot
