I can’t afford the DLCs, but I really want them. I also can’t afford a VPN at all because I am dirt poor. I’ve tried searching this question but I can’t find a genuine answer that makes sense to me (I don’t understand computers at all, so I need an ‘explain like i’m 5’ explanation because some of the guides here really confuse me
When I was a really dumb kid, I had illegally downloaded the sims game through searching “Sims 4 free” and downloading it bc I didn’t really understand what I was doing since I was like 10, and my ISP called my parents and said if I didn’t remove it then they would be ending our internet basically… Now I have the real version and bought a few of the DLCs on sale but can’t afford anymore. So I’m scared. People in here have said that they’ve downloaded it without a VPN, but am I really at a risk because I don’t want to get my families wifi taken away, but I really want a few of the DLCs. Will my ISP notice it and get us in trouble? Can I risk it or should I not?
Look man, don’t worry about it that much haha. Some European countries are super strict on this matter, but you’ll be fine. They really don’t care and just send the letters because they have to, without following up(except if they’re sending you letters every two days, obviously).
Anyways - a solution for your problem would be proton vpn’s free tier. I’ve heard it’s good. Good luck.
I did read it thoroughly, but a lot of the terms still confused me since this is the first time I’ve ever tried to pirate something, and I only just recently learned what pirating what. Sorry.
To download torrents first you download a .torrent file (or click on a magnet link). Then the actual download happens in another program (like for example qBittorrent, Deluge, Transmission, Tixati, uTorrent, BitTorret - but don’t ever use the last two, they are popular but bad).
So if you use DDL (Direct Download Link), like Google Drive, 1fichier, Krakenfiles, Mega, Mediafire, Qiwi, etc. - you’re fine. Same if you use my Sims 4 Updater, it doesn’t use torrents either.
