I understand I can’t just turn the vpn on and be good. I need to bind it with my client.
Tools, Options, Advanced, Network Interface.
If you are using Wireguard (please do), choose wgpia0, hit okay, and you’re good to go.
If using OpenVPN, the interface will have a different name. Turn PIA off and you’ll see which one disappears from the list. Turn it back on and choose that one.
I just did it on MacBook, was a little journey but managed. It is quite different than a Windows, what do you work on?
Firstly rename your network adapter Pia so you can identify it. Then bind qbittorrent to that interface. Done
How to bind PIA VPN with tTorrent or uTorrent? Basically Android…that’s what I’m using, a Samsung S22 Ultra Thanks!
At the highest level, turning on your vpn and you are good is more or less correct. What do you mean by "bind with my client’?
Why wireguard vs openvpn?
Any tips if you don’t see “wgpia0” as an option?
I haven’t bound Qbittorent but my Split tunnel rules only allow it to run if PIA is running. Is that functionally the same?
im actually using IPVanish not PIA but thats fine i guess. i did that. how do i test if im binded now. i found which interface it was
so i have IPVanish at the moment. found the network interface “utun3” and ran a test from this guys link i just copy and pasted below. download started so seems all good.
“You can download the official Ubuntu 21.10 torrent and open it on qBittorrent. If the binding is properly set, the download will only start if the VPN is connected. If you disconnect, the download will stop.”
