Checking VPN function on Roku TV

I have successfully setup a VPN on my TPlink AX1800 router. I confirmed that my phone and computer register as the VPN server address, so I know its working. However, I cannot do the same “Whatsmyip” test with my Roku TV. How do I confirm the VPN is functioning on it?

The reason I ask is that I set my server as the UK. And Roku Live TV still recommends US news channels. And my Netflix looks no different. So I suspect its not working?

I appreciate any and all help!

One suggestion I got was to use a web browser on the TV to do the whatsmyip test. However Roku TV does not support web browsing or have an app to do that.

Possibly a speed test app? They look for the closest server to your IP address. I don’t have a Roku so not sure if it’s available or not
