Surprisingly with all the adverts and sponsors for VPNs I don’t actually know all that much about them.
At my new school we’re allowed our phones and they have school WiFi, and the 4G there is terrible. I want to use the school WiFi but when I connect it gives me warning about a bunch of trackers. I don’t feel comfortable with the school watching my every move on my own personal phone. Can a VPN help with this?
If anyone knows if VPNs would work with this I’d be grateful, thanks
if your vpn has obfuacated servers, that works vasically everywhere for me
Depends. If you need to log in to the school internet with a specific ID or from a device the school has some software of their own on the may be able to tell what you’re doing with a VPN and definitely that you specifically is using one.
If they don’t, they can still tell someone is using a VPN and boot that device off the network.
Yes they do and I know from experience
(Using freinds phones, I don’t have VPNs myself)
They do need you to log in with your school account, so they’ll probably know from that
So my school has requires me to log in with my school account before connecting to their internet. If I use their ethernet on my laptop which does not require me to use my school email to log in would they still know its me or if I use a VPN they wont know its me?
Also I am not sure if you know the answer to this one but if I connect my Windows computer to their ethernet and use the “mobile hotspot” feature to share the internet to my phone, can they see its me on my phone / see what I’m doing.

a VPN they won’t know its me?
ny apps while I’m directly connected to their internet from my phone but when I use the mobile hotspot feature it lets me).
Yep, they’ll definitely know its you. They won’t know what you’re doing with the VPN most likely but they’ll certainly know you’re using one.
The question of if they actually care enough to do anything about it, that I don’t know.
Okay, thanks for all the help
