Lots of VPN services are offering holiday deals, wondering if Mullvad ever offers any deals? Looking to signup but want to wait if there will be a deal anytime soon?
No. I think the rational (as hinted at on their pricing page) behind it is that offering one price that never changes is more sustainable in the long term. Their income is going to be more predictable with that pricing model.
These so-called deals that some VPN providers have are often fake discounts since they are always running these deals that should end in a few hours, but in reality, you can go back tomorrow or next week, and the same deal is still running. This kind of dishonest marketing tactic is also one of the reasons why I use Mullvad over these alternatives.
No and Mullvad is a very affordable price anyway
Yes, 0.50$ if you use crypto
Scroll all the way down
Nope. However, if you purchase your subscription through their app on your phone you’ll be charged in your nations currency and not Euro’s like if you bought it through there website.
Constat 5 euros. It never pressures you into buying into it with deals etc. You know how much its gonna cost and I appreciate it.
Serialcart.de 1 year €45.70 (if purchased outside of EU) - 24%
I also found this offer on SerialCart.com:
WebHallen
299 Kr for 6 months, 26 Euros (13.3%)
6 months 28.44 Euros (12%)
The pricing IS the deal imo.
They say that they don’t want to lock you in with a “deal”.
Also they hook you in with a 2$/mo price but you actually pay for 2 years
It’s different by countries.
For me price in apps is higher.
I would rather be locked in for 2 years and pay only $48 compared to paying 1 year at $60+
What does Mullvad offer over these that justifies being almost three times the amount?
No logs and no BS. Being straightforward and transparent on pricing leads me to believe they are straightforward and transparent with the rest of their business model. And I know that they’re not going to keep charging me (including auto-renewing a subscription) if I forget to use it. Other companies are making quit a bit of money on people who signed up and have stopped using or forget to use the VPN.
Just tried this myself and the app opens the browser and shows Euros when I try to buy credits.
No logs many claim this is it true maybe.
What is no BS many people have gone with cheap providers and they pay it works.
I would say these people do pitch some BS with messing about you need to pay a way only to get portforwarding.
If people forget that is on them nothing to do with companies and many places will give reminders etc.
I have not heard anything which justifies paying more for 1 year compared to others who give you 2 years and are still are fair bit cheaper. (I have been with Air & these people I left due to price and issues with streaming services)
