Downloaded app, now constant connection errors!

Not 6am PDT yet but not loooking good. Extended maintenance x2?

Edit: Apparently “Madison” from support thinks I’m a moron and haven’t tried relaunching the app. Perfect.

Edit 2: I was able to get in on my emulator with the Amazon version, only by downloading and using a VPN app (Turbo VPN) and relaunching twice Thanks to u/magondrago and u/AmaranthSparrow for helping me avoid losing login streak/bonuses! Now I’ll try that same app on my Pixel 2 XL.

Edit 3: Worked with VPN on android 10 device (pixel 2 xl). I deleted FFBE app, downloaded Turbo VPN and started it, downloaded FFBE, once it gets to chocobo race you can disconnect VPN. Helps to be on WiFi because it is a large download. Good luck everyone!

I’m getting connection errors and a message telling me redownload and restore. I do but it does nothing and just loops me in this process. Didn’t have this issue till the update. EDIT Restarting my device does nothing still cant get in, im assuming this is the same issue others have been having the past week where they now cant log in did gumi make it worse??

Installed Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 VPN and I’m downloading the patch (iOS). Apparently Gumi somehow is screwing their DNS routing -which would also explain last week’s connectivity issues. I don’t have a wifi network at hand, but I have a hunch that if you’re having troubles, you can use an open DNS server like google 8.8.8.8 or OpenDNS and you should be able to punch through.

EDIT: I got through the first large download, then a small 2Mb patch and now I’m seeing chocobos running for the final 158mb sprint. So yeah, they took a dump on their DNS routing.

EDIT2: I seem to recall that somebody from Peru posted last week that they were able to get through by connecting to a VPN. This further fuels my theory that the issue lies with DNS.

I uninstalled and reinstalled fresh. Can’t even open the app now. “Stops working”

I was reporting any issue that I encountered to support, only to be slap on the face. They always respond as you are a retard not doing things right or request proof that there is an issue. “Please sent video proof that this problem exists or I’m going to close this ticket”. Geez, I’m not your FREE QA TEAM so stop asking me for a proof, I’m a customer reporting issues as detail as I can, don’t ask me to install some video recording software and spend time to report issue so you can save money on hire a decent QA team!

And today’s issue plus all the past non-senses, maybe it is time to move on to a better game developer that cares!

Busted for me. Got to 100% first time and then booted me out, now gets to 14% every time and then says I should try the Restore function and start again. Have done this about ten times now.

Good going Gumi. Even with another three hours to waste they have fucked up the game in a fresh new way.

same issues described here, tried all the “fixes”, tried cell, tried two different wifi networks which i know work fine(one has pi-hole, one doesn’t). tried restore, tried clearing app data. My main phone is on android 10.

I grabbed my spare phone that’s on pie, set it up fresh from brand new unused, signed in to google, downloaded the game, signed in to fb to restore my game data and after a couple small downloads it does the same shit my main phone does. tries to download a few times and then just crashes at the title screen. I didn’t have any issues before this maintenance.

You see Gumi being Gumi is actually making me save so much lapis. I was going to try for Karten but since I only managed to log in on my phone as opposed to my iPad, I don’t have access to my lapis since it’s all stored on the itunes side of the account. Thanks Gumi!

ok now its getting worse.the apps just crash after loading screen, any help?

Login issues started with the previous patch and didn’t get addressed apparently, gg Gumi.

This happened to me too. I switched my cell phone from using wifi to data and that seemed to help for me.

Yep nothing working for me on either wifi or cellular data. Gumi done almost set a mew high bar here.

Amazon App here, it stills crashing like the last week.

I have no problems. The only error message I got once said that the servers where full. I guess because everyone was downloading the new app at once. Is it working for you now or still busted?

Thunder VPN did the trick for me. I’m on wi-fi.

  • uninstall the game (not sure if needed)
  • install and run Thunder VPN (choose fastest servers)
  • run FFBE, it’ll slowly download the problematic update (180Mb)
  • it’ll ask to download the game (1.7Gb). Close the game
  • close the VPN
  • run the game and start the 1.7Gb download (no VPN necessary)

Anyone still facing issues? It’s just sad at this point.
