ELI5: Setup VPN to work on Guest Only

Can someone please explain step-by-step if possible, how can I setup the VPN network to always be running, but on the Main/Guest network?

I have my router connected to the laptop through Ethernet and I want to know if it’s possible to have that connection as an always-on VPN, while the other one as the normal connection without VPN.

I’m using Flint 2.

  • Go to Network Settings > Guest Network.
  • Turn on the Guest Network.
  • Give it a unique SSID (e.g., “GuestVPN”) and password.
  • Save the settings.

Bind the VPN to the Guest Network

  1. Go to VPN Dashboard > Global Proxy.
  2. Enable VPN Policy.
  3. Choose VLAN as the policy type.
  4. Add a rule for the Guest Network:
    • Select the devices (or entire Guest network interface, if available) you want to route through the VPN.
    • Ensure only the Guest network traffic goes through the VPN.
  5. Save and apply the policy.

I needed this! Thanks.

Thank you but I don’t have the VPN Policy option.

I can go to VPN Dashboard and have an option that looks like this:

Click “Global Proxy”

Apologies it should be based on VLAN.

And just toggle from there whether I want the VPN on the ‘Private’ or ‘Guest’ network I assume.

Thank you.

Right but that means I have to add each device manually, rather than as soon as something is connected the guest network, it goes over to vpn.
