It’s awful in literally every setting. Home WiFi, public WiFi, and mobile. It keeps disconnecting and then you have no internet for 40secs to 2 minutes while it reconnects. It happens habitually, multiple times per hour. Watching videos randomly kicks down to 240p or below and then randomly halts while the VPN tries to reconnect.
I turn it off, everything is smooth. I turn it on, everything literally becomes a pain.
If it was free, I wouldn’t be complaining, but I’m paying for this service through Fi. Fix your shit or fuck off and don’t offer it as a service.
VPNs have a limited bandwidth. If too many people are on at once and/or doing activities that use a lot of bandwidth (like streaming hi def movies or videos) the vpn service will start to act like you describe.
I had a similar thing happen to my work VPN and the IT department had to put me on a different server for a different area of the country in order for me to be able to get work done.
Only don’t work for me on my pixel 7 pro. It kicks me off the internet after about 10 minutes and I have to toggle it on and off for it to reconnect. Works fine on my PC and iPad
Yeah it’s weird I randomly have connection issues, cellular and Wi-Fi, Pixel and iphone (so can’t necessarily blame Tensor). Turn it off and no issues. However, I’ve had no issues on my iPad.
OP, I had this issue previously and it was basically poor fibre cabling at my property.
Try turning off VPN for an extended period of time (like a week) and seeing if it is still an issue. It might be a different issue but is just made worse by VPN.
i just started having issues with it on my PC’s and phone. when the vpn is turned on i do not have internet. i have to turn it off then turn it back on to get internet working. this is new and until now i have had no issues with it.
My issue with the G1 VPN is that it causes YouTube playback to stop working when I press the home button to turn off the home screen (so when the phone is in my pocket), I can still listen and multitask without it bouncing around in my pocket and accidentally tapping things on the screen.
I have YouTube premium, and so I am supposed to be able to turn the display off without the playback stopping.
