H‑E‑B App won’t take my payment information

Anybody else having this issue with the H‑E‑B app?

This has been an issue for months with tons of back and forth between me and the customer service team, and nobody knows how to fix it.

Basically I go in to add my payment info on the app, and it always says a generic “error” message after I press submit, and I can’t add my card.

I tried multiple different cards, I tried my boyfriends card, my moms card, made a new account and tried, and I tried it on my computer instead of the app. It NEVER lets me add in any payment method.

Any advice?

Same issue here but I use a Discover card. I also tried taking a picture of my card to add, typed it in no luck.

This happened to me when I did not match the primary contact phone number with the card holder name and info. I was trying to put my friend as the primary contact bc she was going to pick it up for me but it started to reject all my cards. I switched the primary contact back to me with my phone number and my cards worked again!

There’s been quite a few service tickets I’ve seen on curbside leaders slack about this same thing. Most likely it’s an issue with the app, call the 800 number and they can help you get back on track.

You would think that they would WANT to take people’s money. Dealing with this right now. Having to put money onto the card they currently have (thanks Apple CC) and try this way. LOVE that they aren’t taking any responsibility for this.

I am struggling with this too. It WILL work with some cards I have had on my account for a while, but it hates my Chase Sapphire. This is a bummer because I get 3 times points with online grocery orders. It worked for some time and then stopped. I have been on the phone with their technical people a couple times and they can’t seem to fix it.

Wife had this same problem. Got nowhere with customer service. Downloaded the app on my phone and redid the whole grocery basket on a fresh account and it worked. Sad thing is we are using the HEB credit card sad if it was a problem with the card then it is still their problem.

I’m having a similar issue. I’ve tried multiple times to make a delivery order. I’ve deleted my cards and added them back. I’ve deleted all items from my cart and added them back. I’ve logged out and logged back in. I’ve used Chrome and the Chrome incognito browser. The payment still wouldn’t go through.

It only accepted my payment/order when I accidentally did curbside. I guess curbs side was the default selection and after I logged out and logged back in. If anyone finds this thread, try doing curbside and see if the payment goes through.

This is still an issue… I’ve done curbside once before and now it will not accept any card… may 2024. We hate going in store because it is a tiny & cramped HEB and awful to navigate but oh well!

So its july 12 and i was trying to put an order since morning. And same error, used cards for discover amex visa master card… and nothing… so i jumped here to see if any feedback. Seem like we all were on the same boat so I Went back to the app to see if any customer service number. I selected the number for curbside and then digital coupon. That was not the right department though, but the rep was able to route me to the correct department, which They didn’t tell me the name. But at the end, the rep asked me what were the last four digits of the card I was adding and After two minute, wait. She asked me to sign out, sign back in of the app. After signing back in, I typed in my car details and successfully I was able to put my order. My pick up is at 9 PM today july 12.

This is happening to me now. Has anyone ever figured out the fix?

The only thing that worked for me is when I created a whole new account with a different email and different phone number.

I changed the zip code to the zip code that the heb is in and that worked!!

This is happening to us too. Made another account, and that didn’t help either. This card has money, not sure why this is happening. Like what others are saying, I think it’s a THEM problem. Bummer, cause we really like HEB! :slightly_frowning_face:

It doesn’t make any sense at all to me that HEB doesn’t accept Healthy Benefits Ucard payments for groceries. There are FAR more HEB stores than Walmarts in San Antonio, and many, many people with Ucard dollars to spend. I cannot comprehend why HEB doesn’t want to cash in on yet more free government money. They already accept WIC and other government-sponsored EBT payment programs. They are actually losing money by not accepting this form of payment. I’m talking hundreds of thousands of dollars, maybe even MILLIONS. That’s just plain STUPID.

I just spent 26 minutes to no avail. My MC, PayPal etc. Can’t get them to take my $. That’s a new one. Anyway I’ll find something else.

I just had the same problem. The root of the issue is your CCV number. For VISA it’s the 3 numbers on the back. For AMEX it’s the 4 numbers on the front. Once I switched to the 4 numbers on the front the card saved on my HEB account just fine.

This was posted a year ago. I googled and this was the first thread that popped up, as I am having the same issue tonight!!! Come on HEB. Do BETTER
