Has anyone tried the Turkey VPN trick recently?

As I understand it the process is

  • register and active mobile / email / card using local currency with no vpn
  • cancel before first month is up
  • wait until the sub cancels. I am at this step now and have to wait until end of month
  • use VPN to reactivate via turkey vpn

I signed up to nord vpn for two years specifically for this purpose but can cancel within 30 days. I have heard HolaVPN works well which I think is free via chrome

Anyone tried this workaround recently? I know it used to work a few months ago so just wondered are there any recent sign ups via this method which have worked ?

This is how we did it but that was a few months ago. I am fairly certain it will still work.

I am crrently using SpiderVPN since i got it for free for SPDR staking on NESTS program. Guys in Turkey have a huge community around the project. I gave it a try and do not enter internet without VPN since then :stuck_out_tongue:

I have setup my account in Turkey using a VPN and turned it off once finished, now I’m getting charged $9 for premium. So it definitely works.

I tried this last month but it still asked me for a turkey phone number for verification despite having my account already phone verified. It has since wiped my verification on the number I did have saved so I am SOL now I guess.

How do you get a credit card in Turkish lira currency? I have the mobile and email setup.

Which VPN did you use ? I’m inclined to cancel NORD although I got it on a special cash back offer working out at around £16 for two years

Nord didn’t work for me when trying to connecting to Turkey. Ip got detected by netflix, making it useless for this purpose, tried more than 10 servers. Had to use holavpn instead, free and it works. Mind you, this was a year ago, not sure whelther it’s still detected but I’m inclined to agree.

Nords great for connecting to other countries (us, UK and canada) netflix though, which is why im still using it.

Windscribe. It seemed to be fine and showed my IP as being in Turkey and gave me Turkey prices, but it still wanted me to verify via phone number again. I have been trying to find a way to get a Turkey number for sms Verification since but the only option appears to be a super sketchy Russian site. I also dont trust that the gift card trick will work so I rather not waste $16 trying that too.

I went via quidco cash back site which currently have 80% off nordvpn, so you click through there and buy the sub via quidco for two years . You should get cash back in a few months

you can google/search pastebin for logins, the VPN companies (not just Nord) basically give them out willy nilly

Hey bro how did u get windscribe to work on netflix? I mean switching to Turkey and the site will just not load for me, I can’t even attempt the method because of this
