Help with Netgear Router and linking it to a VPN

I own a Netgear Nighthawk X4S R7800 and it works great. I also own NordVPN that I use for my phone, laptop, and computer and it works great.

I would like to link the VPN directly to direct all traffic. The main desires are: 1. Being able to use the VPN for the router to have all devices protected, 2. Block ads (I can do without if it means number 1 is fulfilled).

I’m also on a MacBook as my main device, I am familiar with the terminal, and I have a very beginner level knowledge in this. Any help is appreciated

Pretty sure the R7800 stock firmware doesn’t have a VPN client built in. Would be available on a third party firmware such as OpenWRT though.

The Voxel firmware does have it.

Yeah I’ve seen that but I looks like it’s abandoned for the past couple of years, so didn’t recommend it
