Seems like every post i come across its either people saying its the best VPN of all time or that it’s underwhelming. Nothing really in between. I have limited VPN experience; was previously using proton VPN for watching netflix of other countries but it started getting blocked. Can anyone chime in with some honest surfshark reviews and tell me if this is a legitimately good service that will allow me to watch netflix?
It will do just fine for netflix and other big streamers. Biggest appeal with surfshark is the price, as you can get it for really cheap on a longer term deal, just a couple of bucks. Other VPN’s are a lot more expensive and offer the same thing, more or less.
Best of all time? How would you even quantify that, lol. I use surfshark as my main VPN at the moment cause I got a great deal on it and it is just fine. Does exactly what I need it to… It’s the second VPN i have ever used so i can only compare it to the one i used previously which was PIA. To me it seems like they do the exact same thing, just that surfshark lags slightly less. I have also tried using it for netflix and it has worked.
I use it for online poker and it works flawlessly for me. I don’t know if it would work for netflix. I always thought that netflix and other similar sites found a way to block all the VPN’s? Can someone confirm whether or not that is true?
Surfshark is solid. Very similar to Nord VPN in many ways. I find it better than Nord though because Nord is way more popular, which resulted in a lot of their IP addresses getting abused (then you keep having to do captchas to prove you’re not a robot)
I have played around with Nord, surfshark, express and mullvad. I would say mullvad and surfshark are the best overall for most things, gaming, streaming, browsing. They get flagged as VPN’s the least, at least for me. Nord comes after that, it’s almost the same as Surfshark but more abused. ExpressVPN is so terrible. Barely usable. They don’t change out the IP’s ever it seems and its slow af
I averaged 80 mbs download speed when connected to surfshark which I think is pretty good and more than enough for gaming and watching netflix or other videos. Upload speed was about 60 mbs so not a huge hit on that front… Can’t speak to whether or not it gets detected on certain sites since i haven’t really gotten around to testing that.
a pretty good mid-tier VPN. Sometimes it can lag a little, though it happens quite rarely. Another VPN I’m using is purevpn which hasn’t let me down ever. Some people have complained about it but i really don’t understand why; it’s super reliable.
I have read a lot of surfshark reviews before i got a subscription with them. it was definitely weird because like you said all the reviews either praised it or completely hated it. My experience was somewhat in between lol. Most of the time i was satisfied with it but occasionally it would lag when streaming. Very rarely though. And to answer your question - yes it does work with netflix USA.
Surfshark = solid. Not the best, but obviously far from the worst. If you’re not going to be doing anything too intensive with it, you’ll be just fine .
i like Surfshark. I think it’s one of the most consistent reliable VPN’s someone can use for almost anything. The only VPN that I would suggest someone use before it is Mullvad since it focuses on the privacy aspect more than other providers.
No that’s not true. Only some VPN’s got blocked by netflix and only some of the time, depending on the GEO you use to access netflix. In general major VPN providers like nord and surfshark are quite good at flushing out the IP addresses that get blacklisted and giving out fresh ones that won’t get blocked.
agree especially on that last point. Express is really really bad. Someone should make a thread with all the BAD VPN’s since there are so many that just don’t offer a solid service. Cyberghost, Tunnelbear, Pure, ultravpn, Air vpn… each one of them have their own issues mostly relating to speeds.
The reason for you seeing super negative or super positive reviews is because the vast majority of people who use VPN’s are just satisfied with the service and couldn’t be bothered to leave a review online. For every 1 person who makes a thread bashing a service, there are probably 10 - 15 that are just like “meh it works so whatever I’ll keep using it”. Think about it, most of the time unless you are extremely satisfied and enthused with a product, you’re not going to be bothered to leave a review.
I’ve used it for gaming, CSGO and warzone without any problems. I would say there aren’t many online activities that are more intensive than that. Maybe uploading a movie online? But who uses VPN’s for uploading purposes, almost all of us are focused on the download aspect. And in that aspect surfshark is quite good.
