My TV can’t download stuff from the Appstore (it’s not an android TV) and only have the pre installed apps like Netflix, Prime and YouTube but I wish to circumnavigate the Geo restrictions and hotspot my phone’s VPN to the TV. Is it possible?
Yes. It’s possible. You could look for a tethering app, but that may or may not work.
If you have a Windows or Mac computer, it is even easier because it is supported natively.
Unfortunately, I don’t have recommendations for an android tethering/internet sharing app, as I don’t use Android.
Finally, have you considered casting? You could cast the phone to the TV if supported. Or, like me, connect the device straight to the TV through HDMI. That may be a better choice if the TV is getting older, and no additional setup is required.
