How do I change my public IP address on ATT fiber?

That is not a source.

I already said that isn’t an option for me regardless even if it were true. There has to be a simple way to change your IP especially considering how prone you become to blocks or DDOSes or being identified with a static one.

Not sure. A block of 8 has 5 usable IPs. So you have 1 network identifier, the Gateway IP address, and then the last IP is the broadcast IP.

So the gateway does get a different IP address that shows differently to the web. As for if the original Gateway IP were to go away entirely I’m not sure. There is definitely a new one though.

Does the static IP block actually affect your public IP address?

I didn’t need your assumption of guilt

Does getting a block of static IPs even change your public IP?

it IS a source how dare you

Lol well you got blocked! What did you do? Static IP fixes this issue unless you do whatever you did and get blocked… again. :woman_shrugging: You get 5 chances.

Yes. The gateway IP address is part of the block of 8. Network identifier, Gateway IP, 5 usable, and broadcast. One of the other names statics are called by are public IP addresses.

It comes with the explanation free of charge.

Yes that’s the only way to change it but it’s not free

How do I know you work for ATT at all, or that even if you did you had info on something that I cannot seem to get a straight answer for no matter how much I look around the internet?

Have you done it yourself?

I’ve read in some places that the static IP blocks don’t actually change your public IP so I wasn’t sure what to do.

Is there really no way I can just have my IP changed?

You can check with tech support they will confirm it.

I’d prefer hearing that it worked from another actual person

Hi, I am “another actual person!”
It worked.
