How to remove the VPN icon from the menu bar?

CMD drag it outside the menu bar

I remember a silly thing that if you had deleted your vpn before checked the box to not show there, the stupid icon would just stay there forever.
recreate a vpn , uncheck the setting and then remove the vpn profile.

You can usually just grab a hold of the items while holding down the command key, and the drag them to either to the spot you want it to be, or totally off the menubar.

EDIT: oh, btw. You can take a screenshot by hitting cmd+shift+3 (whole screen)
cmd+shift+4 (window, or if you hit the spacebar right after you can select a portion of the screen) or
cmd+shift+5 (gives you a bunch of options like video and delay timers)
And if you add a ctrl to any of those the screenshot will be saved to your clipboard instead of your desktop.

Something like Bartener can hide menu icons.

Cool I will add it to my menubar

Right click → Quit?

Even better… searching for “VPN” within settings takes you right to the setting…

Thank you so much, I figured it out now.

wow, I didn’t know this exist. it’s so easy.

Thanks so much for your tip! Been bugging me since I got rid of my VPN.

It happened to me too. I figured out how to remove it.

Thanks for the tip. I could have taken a screenshot and uploaded it but I wasn’t logged into Reddit from my Mac and didn’t feel like air dropping the screenshot and uploading it. So just took a pic from my phone.

Can’t because there is no quit option.

You figured it out after 2 people gave you screen shots and steps. lol.

Thanks for saying thanks! It’s so nice to see Redditors being grateful

Just replied to the latest one. Didn’t see the first one.

Can’t because I use the vpn connection.
