Hulu and Disney+ Content to Be Combined In One App, Services Stay Apart
They basically are already combined in Canada and it’s great!
Finally. Interesting however we’re already at this point where streaming services are consolidating.
No surprise it basically already combine with everywhere else
What happens to people with subscriptions to both
I’m curious about if ESPN+ content will also be accessible through Disney+. ESPN+ content is already accessible through Hulu so will that carry over as well for a singular app for the whole bundle.
Now I just hope Disney+ Hotstar gets upgraded to the real Disney+ app with all the features.
Disney MAX incoming!
Any word on what this’ll mean for people with the ad tier like me?
I just hope it won’t get confusing, like you search for something and aren’t sure if you can watch it because its on Hulu only or vice versa
laughs in Canadian
So that’s means I can watch Hank Hill sell propane and propane accessories on Disney plus?
Oh goody. I bet the disney ads will become as loud and obnoxious as the Hulu ads.
(I’ve been finding the Disney ones surprisingly tolerable in comparison. Now they have an excuse to follow Hulu’s lead lol)
Looking forward to this! Love the idea of accessing everything through one app
so would anime like bleach, Tokyo revengers and summer time rendering finally appear on Disney+ in the US
Streaming services are effectively moving back to the cable model, giving you “channels” you’re not necessarily interested in but you have to pay for them anyway. This is going to be an expensive Star Wars sub for me given that’s all the TV I have time to watch.
People seem to not understand what Iger is saying. Hulu content is not coming to Disney Plus. He is saying that there will be another app which is not Disney Plus and is not Hulu. That will contain a combination of Disney Plus and Hulu content. This combined all will only be available to those who already pay for the bundle.
So maybe I can finally cancel the link that I use for Spotify and replace it with Sho. If it works of course.
So, it will be basically like Globoplay here in Brazil (where they have, on the same app, the regular Globoplay service; Globoplay + live channels; Telecine - a major premium television service; Premiere - a premium sports service, with the rights to nearly every Brasileirão match; Combate - a channels specialized in fight events, including major boxing events, ONE Championship and Bellator; and even LIONSGATE+ - Globo is one of the Brazilian distribution partners for STARZ’s international service, a list that also includes Disney, via Star+)
However, Iger said Disney also plans to increase prices on ad-free tier later this year, which he said will “better reflect the value of our content offerings.”
Comes at a price, I guess.
