I’m thinking if i renew PIA or not. But it seems PIA is not what it was years ago. Is it worth paying for it? I had many sites blocking access when i used it last year, so I’m not sure if that just happens with PIA servers or with any other VPN

I’ve been using PIA for 5 years and had no issues. It works perfectly for my use, so I’ll keep using it.

I tried nordvpn a couple of years ago, got a refund and came straight back to PIA. Nordvpn speeds were terrible in comparison. If you do consider moving make sure there is a money back period. All vpns get blocked eventually, all the popular ones anyway

With all the problems, PIA is still the best

I’ve been using pia always and mullvad on and off. Speeds max out my 1 gbs internet on pia in Canada and personally ( I have no proof) I think that mullvad is likely a little more secure but for what I’m using it, having it not be like cia level protection needed, I believe pia is great. I’ll still use mullvad on and off but I have had nothing but good luck with pia.

Sounds like my experiences, but all VPNs are being flagged/blocked by some servers. It’s not just a PIA problem, it’s the server owners/operators that have an issue with being accessed via VPN. Some concerns are legit, like combating fraud with limiting access to legitimate (carefully filtered/rejected) adresses. Region blocking streaming services too, obviously. I really can’t blame servers and providers as they have to deal with these kinds of issues somehow.

I’m sticking with PIA. If anything it’s become more robust IME. If I run into a problem, I simply disconnect and reconnect for a new address, hopefully from a pool that isn’t going to be blocked.

It’s $3/month. Top 5 VPNs are all worth paying for. The differences are likely negligible.

Switched recently to Mullvad and never been happier.

MULLVAD the definate most reliable vpn that will not track or harvest, i used PIA for yrs but they were bought by a company which pretty much owns most of them, i wont trust PIA any more, you can even buy Mullvad on onion link if you want,

nearly all vpns are being bought up by 1 company thats why theres issues

MULLVAD is freedom and respected

Proton VPN is considerably better.

Mullvad is amazing, and leagues better. It’s unfortunate that pia has gone downhill

Absolutely not. It was bought by a malware distributor

I wished it worked with wire guard. That’s the thing that’s making me pause

Working well for me, but I only use it for one thing, and that isn’t browsing.

I have been using PIA for like 8 years and lately I feel like Im getting blocked on everything. Amazon, Newegg, Google, Netflix, Hulu, and a bunch of other site. Sometimes I get stuck on what feels like 10 minutes of ‘Not a robot’ verification until I turn it off.

I think the blocking is due to the VPN IP being shared for multiple people (some of which are knuckleheads and do stuff Google doesn’t like). However I know PIA added a static IP option.

You’d have to check with them to see if this IP is only for you, or just means that you will get the same shared IP each time.

Ive experienced this too, several sites. Mainly just google search engine.

No blocked sites? And i don’t mean stream sites, but other kind of sites.

Nord harvests data right from the app on your PC, its in the code, same as express

My bank blocks access through VPNs (at least PIA - and I’ve tried a lot of servers).

It also recommends using a VPN if you’re on a public wifi or in a hotel, etc.

I filled out on online comment form pointing this out. You can guess how much good it did.
