I don’t think it’s always been that way, but recently when I’ve used the Android app version of a VPN, it routes all traffic for the Chromebook through it versus just Android traffic. Not sure when it changed but as a Private Internet Access enjoyer it made me very happy as there’s not a good non-android way to use it on a Chromebook.
Are you sure it works like that? When I go to check.torproject.org the chrome-browser says it is not secured. Do I need to redirect traffic somewhere?
Install it just like you do in your phone
It’s been a while since I last tried but it’s how I secured my web browser when I needed it. Unfortunately I won’t be with my CB until Monday to confirm but can reply when I’m able. I didn’t have to do anything to route the traffic it just worked
Then I can start the android version of chrome-browser and go to check.torproject.org and it shows tor working, but if I go to the same site in the main chromeOS browser it states “Sorry. You are not using Tor.”.
Do you maybe configure something? VPN?
Does tor use androids VPN function, it should Work,.as I’ve used android vpns In my duet before
My HP360 does not use the android-VPN in chromeOS’s ChromeBrowser, while orbot is working fine in android firefox, brave, chrome etc…
I am not sure if it is just a setting.
by “androids vpn” function, on an android device does it register as a vpn or something else, cus if its a vpn, it should work. the vpn settings on chromeos are in the quicksettings
psiphon works fine, tunnels me into spain (im in AU)
ive got Google One VPN and 1.1.1.1 WARP installed so ill try them u/yotties
looks like you need to also add them from chromeos’s vpn panel in the quick settings
