Avast is in the top 10 malware detections, It’s just that the tacticts they use, are… annoying.

yes, avast is safe. the people claiming it’s adware are talking about its scummy upselling tactics, like the popups that attempt to scare you into upgrading to premium. it’s not exactly malicious, just rather annoying.

On march 1 2022 i downloaded a virus accidentaly and good thing i have Mcafee Mobile Security Installed, it quickly alerted me that its a virus and mcafee deleted it. But when i opened chrome and go to downloads the virus file is still there. So i deleted it, and out of panic i installed Avast Mobile security. I googled is avast safe there were lots of answers that its safe so i installed it andddd it detected some more malware so i quickly uninstalled the remaining malware, the confusing part is that mcafee didnt detect the remaining malware so i kept avast for 2 months more and for the past 2 months nothing happened bad luckily. Yesterday my brain just forced me to search is avast safe again and then suddenly theres alot of answers that its adware and not safe and i saw some answers that its safe so it got me really confused and i deleted Avast quickly. (I really need honest/serious answers here)

I downloaded an eicar test file, and out of 5 antiviruses, Avast was the only one to detect it.
The 5 were Norton, Bitdefender, Avast, Malwarebytes, & MSDefender. The ads are just there to convince you to get their premium.

I Would say avast is safe, might not be the best but it is not dangerous or a scam or anything. mcafee is not that good on computers so i don’t know how good it would be on phone so that’s why you got strage results. there as been suspicions of stealing info but nothing is confirmed and it could be over protective.

Its a strong opinion for many people so a lot of people will agree and disagree.
