Lifetime Pass would keep working even if you gave up Proton Unlimited.
How big is the chance that might happen in your situation. And if it did would you want to keep Proton Pass or just take all your email business elsewhere?
I only see this as useful to get if I ever thought I was going to leave Proton (currently on Duo) and wanted to retain the Pass/SL functionality (including all my logins/aliases). Granted I use 1Password and don’t see myself leaving them anytime soon, so really only using Pass/SL for the alias functionality.
I have Duo for me and my wife, utilizing Mail, VPN, Pass/SL. We use Apple calendar (Apple household and prefer it’s shared functionality), plus I have a NAS so don’t need Drive really.
For me it’s not worth it because if I left Proton I would deal with no longer having Pass/SL, and would possibly just downgrade to only Pass until I could migrate all my aliases somewhere else.
And if it was a matter of Pass/SL no longer being available due to Pass closing it’s doors… I do an export of SL aliases every week or two to make sure I have my data and I could always self-host SL if needed.
I plan on staying with Proton for the foreseeable future. While I do hope they fix some issues/missing functionality, I also prefer to use them and 1Password vs the alternatives, including SOOOO glad to be mostly rid of Google. Only thing I use Google for now is YouTube and if someone shares a Google doc file with me.
Yes, for me especially as i dont use proton vpn, or drive.

When your unlimited subscription expires someday (not to be confused with lifetime) then you will still get to keep your SL + ProtonPass. Could be useful for many reasons. Proton Pass + SimpleLogin Lifetime plan (limited-time offer) | Proton
It won’t give you any additional benefits, so in terms of features yes, it’s useless.
But once your unlimited plan expires it’s good. If you use SL and Proton Pass a lot it’s worth.
I’d pay a lot for this, Proton please bring this to market!!1

I’d really like to get off of Google as well, but I am afraid of potential complications. I used it for my G Drive, mail hosting and Google Docs. Any words of wisdom from your experience? TIA.
