Just a genuine question, I heard from a friend of mine who uses Opera XG and says it’s better than Google Chrome. One of the reasons being Opera doesn’t take up a lot of computer space, so I wanna know if this browser is any good.
its a chromuim based browser so it does take some of the ram and cpu but u can limit the percentage the biggest upside is customizability so every part of the ui and experince u can change it for me its miles ahead of chrome better experinece great features such as the sidebar and the force dark mode for example and UI is really great and very adjustable with opera gx also you can use different search engines to research which i find really useful but mostly its the astethic that is the biggest selling poin you either really love it or really hate it there is no in between so i recommend you try it first since the swich is very easy you can just import ur bookmarks and all this stuff in one button
I just started using it and its good except for the fact that if you search something with a single letter in front, it changes the web browser. Like searching “D chord” will instead search “chord” on DuckDuckGo. And there is 0 way to change it
I am using it for almost 4 years and I could never switch back to another browser. Not really a big fan of the vpn but the AdBlock is really good and effective I don’t remember the last time I saw an ad
The VPN is a proxy that sends your data to random shit. Also not to mention it’s very, very slow
If you avoid the vpn though it is a great browser
But why should i have to do that? I should be able to search whatever i want in the search engine that i choose.
And you can.
It’s a feature in case you ever want to search on a different engine.
You have the option to change the trigger key from space to tab, so you will no longer have this problem.

For me it just slows the internet really bad and doesn’t change location I think there aree more superior services like proton vpn
Its not a “feature” is mandatory. That option doesnt work. It still does it. Stop being rude and then suggesting a solution that doesn’t work.
