KodeKloud standard worth it for devops path? What courses would you recommend?

I am interested in purchasing the KodeKloud Standard subscription since it is $12/month right now. Not sure if it does get lower.

I plan on following the devops or SRE learning path. I heard KodeKloud is great for CKA but I don’t see much about the other courses. Is it worth it to get a yearly subscription? Is standard enough?

I do want to learn docker, ansible, azure, aws, terraform, etc and they have it all.

I also have ACG from work, should I just stick with ACG? I heard a lot of things are outdated. I went through some courses but idk, it is hard to focus on them.

I plan on doing the AZ-104 course in KodeKloud first. Has anyone used this and can give me a review on it?

When I got my first DevOps job I went through the DevOps training pathway before starting, and it was a massive help. Big fan.

Unethical life pro tip: If you VPN into India you can make an account and get the pro membership for like $40/year. You just need the VPN for signing up, after that it’s not needed.

No opinions as I never used KodeKloud

But they happen to have an event where most courses are free this week: https://www.reddit.com/r/kodekloud/s/H8YxaT6iL4

so you can probably check some courses and see if it’s worth it

KodeKloud was brilliant and helped me pass CKA. It’s a shame they don’t offer CKS on Udemy, although I’ve read the content isn’t as good as what’s on offer from Killer.sh’s Udemy course.

Tried ACG as my company has a subscription. Basic things like copying and pasting into Vim or terminal were a pain, and put me off from continuing to use it.

If you sign up to the exam you can access killerconda labs and get two vm based exams (very similar to real experience but questions are purposely much harder).

Would definitely go with KodeKloud. Kudos to the creators.

Hey! So about KodeKloud, they have a bunch of courses, over 80 actually, for beginners all the way to experts.

If you get their PRO subscription, you also unlock these playgrounds, which are basically sandboxes in which to practice and mess around. Plus, there are extra courses just for PRO users to really level up your skills.

Another cool thing with PRO is that you get to do stuff on KodeKloud Engineer almost right away instead of waiting like you would with the free account. Basically, you get to work on real projects on real systems, all from your browser!

So yeah, KodeKloud seems like a solid option whether you’re just starting out or looking to get even better.

Recently brought the pro subscription but I found out most of the courses are little outdated with the content especially UI of cloud consoles and other cicd tools

Any ideas on how were their Azure courses for the exam ?

does this still work?

any word on whether this has improved? i was thinking of requesting work to pay for a subscription

Yeah they keep some stuff updated, other stuff not so much. I found their RHCSA was still for rhel 8 (not an option anymore). But it was still useful for the labs and a lot of overlap. AZ104 was up to date and useful.

I think the service is largely worth it, but I wouldn’t use it as your sole source of learning. I always take 2 separate courses for certifications unless it’s something I have a lot of experience in. KodeKloud is a great secondary or even primary source to learn. The labs alone provide a lot of value. For my RHCSA for example, instead of having to keep 10s of VM snapshots and provision every lab myself, if I wanted to practice lvm partitions, or rootless containers, I could just start a KodeKloud lab on that exact topic, and practice as much as I wanted over and over.

No clue. Worth a shot!

About 3 months on and off

Doesn’t seems to… still same. Its not all outdated but I would rather but one single course and focus on that…

Does the standard path include all paths?

SurfShark trial is only on phone app store (you have to sign up with payment method). Indian price has a 18% surcharge. Pro is 8250 INR + 1485 (18% GST) = 9735 INR. KKREDDIT10 coupon code is 10% off so that brings it to 8761.50 INR. Just tried it right now (Aug 22, 2024 9:21 pm Eastern)

I bought the standard version, not pro.

Yeah I did the pro version just in case i needed.
