Mullvad showing "Internet Blocked" Message

Hi

I have a Windows 10 current build (24-Oct-2020) running Mullvad from India. Trying to connect to any outside Server (US/UK), but getting a connection blocked message (see below screenshot).

When I install it, it works, but once I quit the app and restart it, it doesn’t. If I uninstall and reinstall it works until I exit the program.

Any thoughts?

Maybe VPNs are banned? Try using bridge or wireguard

Having tried multiple issues, I find the same issue - Mullvad connects the first few times it is installed, but if I restart the PC, then I get the same error.

The log shows the below message at the point of failure:

Error trying to connect: tcp connect error: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions

There is a Hypervisor installed on my Windows 10 machine - so the network connections screen shows a network bridge.

Does Network sharing enabled cause these issues?

Check your antivirus.

I’ve been having the same issue since the latest update, running debian linux. After two or three times it connects. No other vpn’s or antivirus.

I am seeing this as well, On both my Linux (Manjaro) and Windows 10 PC. I have to reinstall on windows to fix it. It fixes itself on Linux if I restart the app a few times and tinker with the “Always require VPN” setting.

Something to note as well: I use OpenVPN to connect on both workstations as they Only allow 5 Different systems keys for wireguard. ( My family members also use the VPN and we hit the 5 key limit for Mullvad and it’s a pain to have to remove say one of my keys (tablets, phones etx) so my phone can use the vpn)

I don’t have a second VPN. The AV SW is BitDefender but the firewall is set to allow OpenVPN.

Makes sense. However, on a corporate PC, so unable to disable BitDefender
