Need advice to fix my vpn (windscribe)

Hi Folks. First time posting here. So, just to clarify Im from india but posted overseas.
Youtube premium out here is 14$ a month.

Youtube premium in India is 18$ a year

I successfully subscribed to Youtube premium from India in 2024 using Windscribe. this year my subscription ran out but when using my VPN i get a message saying youtube is unable to verify my country.

Can someone advice on if there are specific settings I need to change in my vpn ? This is not piracy/ an illegal request - my bank cards home etc are all India but Im posted for 6 months at a time out of the country and I just want to watch youtube without ads while im here.

There’s not much that can be done about this. Because many people try to abuse this, YouTube has simply blocked the IP addresses of Windscribe’s Indian servers from making purchases.

If you got some friends/family that are willing to, you could maybe just anydesk to their pc in india and buy the youtube premium on your account on that

I tested to see if there was a problem just with India but it didnt work for other countries as well.

Are you saying a non windscribe vpn might work?

Have you tried to contact YouTube support?

They can probably confirm your real address and bank info and charge you based on that, rather then the traditional IP based lookup. This issue is very common with people who travel and it should be common for support to handle such requests.

Change your timezone on your PC to wherever you try to mock and used incognito. That what worked for me.

I lose my vpn when I go incognito… Its connected to the browser

Install the app and the browser extension and try again.
