Hi team, my girlfriend is hooked on British baking shows which I understand is only available on the US version of Netflix. He have Google TV and protonVPN on there (premium subscription) and are based in New Zealand. Netflix works great and I can see all the US stuff but I can’t see the baking show there. It’s the only show that does not appear on Netflix when we have the VPN on. I have tried swapping servers to the UK, USA, and when we use the VPN and connect to the new Zealand server, Netflix runs in America mode. I’m so confused as to why this happens.
Now the interesting bit is we have the VPN on her phone and connected to the NZ server and we can see the British bake show there and watch it with no issues.
Any idea how to solve this issue? We would rather watch it on the TV than a phone.

Ok so I did a test and signed up for a trial of NordVPN and this works with Netflix with no issues. So my guess is that Netflix can detect ProtonVPN and removes the shows it can’t show in new Zealand. Hopefully ProtonVPN can sort this one-day. (So I’ll have to change providers for now) Hopefully this may help someone

This show should be available on the US version of Netflix. If you’re not able to see it while connected to a streaming-supported US server, could you please let us know which exact servers you’ve tried connecting to?
So using the app on my Google Tv selected United States. I did have a plus or a Pro subscription. I also tried the New Zealand server as well as the UK server. I can’t tell exactly which server (if there was more than one USA one) but it was in the Quick connect option at the Top when opening the App.

Could you try streaming the show now while connected to a streaming-supported Plus server in the US (indicated by the ‘Play’ icon), to see if everything is in order now?
