Hi everyone, I just noticed that the Mobile Router Ultra (UMR-Ultra) is now available on Ubiquiti’s official website. As far as I recall, there hasn’t been any official announcement about this product. Priced at €90 (€109.80 including VAT), it seems like a great option for IoT applications or anyone in need of a compact LTE router with VPN support and automatic failover between LTE, wired WAN, and Wi-Fi.

Here are some key specs:

  • Site-to-site VPN and VPN client routing.
  • (2) FE RJ45 ports.
  • Powered via USB Type-C or 4-pin DC power socket.
  • Wall and DIN rail mounting options.
  • Optional Mobility Cloud subscription.

This is supposed to be a cheaper option compared to the industrial version. If you want the better features consider that as it supports Poe and has gig ports

Comparing it to the older Mobile Router it’s specs are worse… No POE. FE instead of GbE.

Huh. About a month ago I bought a Telefonica unit very similar to this as I was struggling to find a reasonably priced unit that could act as a dumb modem for the second port on my CGU. I was just looking for the mobile equivalent of a pppoe/vdsl modem. If this can do that, that would be amazing.

Does Ubiquiti have an unlocked 5G modem?

Does anyone know if this could work as a failover solution (e.g. WAN2)? Aka a more affordable LTE Backup Pro-like product? Many thanks.

What iot devices can be connected to this, for example lorawan, zigbee etc.

Can give you an answer on that on Sunday ordered one and got with a T-Mobile (in germany) contract. Want to use this as failover on my USGs WAN2. Lets see!
