ok listen - you guys are definitely not the favorite VPN company out there for people, but you’ve worked well for me so far so I’ve ignored the masses. My biggest complaint was the short lived WireGuard configs that timeout if you don’t use them for more than 15 minutes. Even that’s not a big problem as the system that i have using your service basically has the VPN on 24/7 unless I have an internet outage.
But you’ve recently resolved this 15 minute config issue, and extended it to 24 hours… by making it a PAID SERVICE ADDON (24 month addon for $72). That is just a low blow, and a cheap move given this is just standard with all your other competitors.
I may have already paid for your current service, but I’ve removed my automatic billing approval now and will be switching to a better provider when our contract is up. I’m glad that I didn’t purchase your longer Black Friday contact when it was an option.
This is the biggest pain using the PureVPN. I used to have Ivacy and then it switched its users to PureVPN. I have a travel router (glinet), and every time I have to download a new WireGuard configuration file to install and then use the VPN. This is super painful.
Yeah, PureVPN limits the native WireGuard client—drops after a couple of hours unless you grab a new config. Other providers like Mullvad and Nord give unlimited time, no fuss. PureVPN charges extra for 24-hour configs, which is insane. They’re supposedly a no-logs provider, but I never trusted them—feels like they’re pushing their apps to track users easily.
Hello!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly appreciate your perspective on this being a paid add-on. Rest assured, we will forward it to the relevant team for further consideration.
Well that’s not entirely true. I’m using PureVPN currently, and I only have to get a new config if it’s disconnected for more than 30 minutes.
My Linux system stays connected for weeks
Being a bit sarcastic here; my feedback on lack of an automated API to request or renew a WireGuard config were also forwarded ‘for further consideration’. That’s more than a year ago and absolutely zero follow up. Your VPN, when up, is doing perfectly fine, but the way you try to hustle money by making standard features (at least with other competitors) a paid option is telling me that purevpn either is not making enough money of all the Black Friday and lifetime subscriptions, or you’re simply greedy.
Please improve; otherwise long term customers will stop vouching for your service and move away eventually.
