Playing Diablo 4 in China

Currently living and working in China. Since most Blizzard games are now unplayable in China, does anyone know a way to play Diablo 4 in China through a vpn or something similar? Tried playing Diablo 3 but couldn’t even update it. Thanks in advance!

Not sure about anyone else, but I am able to play Diablo 4 here in Guanzhou, I’m currently using Leigod booster, it considered a game booster because it only tunnel the games connections, which means you don’t get access to other blocked sites, but it allowed me to play Diablo 4 and any other game that they offer a connection for.

If you want to play games, you best bets are "加速器 (boosters)"which essentially is a vpn, but only provides a connection for the selected games and or programs.

Hope it helps.

I also live and work in china. I bought D4 on my ps5 and I couldn’t connect initially. After I plugged in an ethernet cable and changed the dns settings, I was eventually able to log in and had a buttery-smooth connection for my entire first day of playing it. However, it has since been unplayable because of the unbelievable lag/ rubber-banding. If anyone can figure out how I can actually play or get my money back, I would be eternally grateful.

Any updates about this?

What’s going on? I thought that Blizzard loves China?

Ew you work in china?

You can wait for open “open” beta 24 of march and test it yourself using VPNs. You will need to create an account lets from USA/EU using vpn (unless your original account is from any country but China) and then play from this account using vpn, this is not optimal for sure because of added latency, but i’m sure its gonna be alright.

So I played Lost Ark from Bahrain through a VPN and “instant cast” spells were taking .5 - 1.0 seconds to cast.

I don’t think being able to play the game will be hard, it’s how the game plays that will be your issue.

Assume you have 2 seconds to get out of a bosses attack, but 1 second of that time is taken due to input lag from China to US based server via a VPN… boom you die.

I’m sure Blizzard will get another company to put servers up in China in no time. The market there is too big for them to ignore.

I tried all vpns on diablo 4 beta and they won’t get me through. You can play d3 though with Astril vpn - no issues there

Damn… was really wanting/ hoping to play Diablo 4 here in Beijing.

Don’t break the law. Gotta stay inside the ccp walls lol

Is anyone here keen to start or know about a D4 WeChat group for us English speakers?

only solution i found was use korea DNS. You can login but the lag spikes are on another level its near unplayable

Im in Canada and playing D4 on a ps4. Anything proactive I could do before I move to China in august so I can play games like D4 ?

I welcome Chinese because I kill them when I am stressed

Me & my friend been playing Diablo 4 since the launch; but I live in Shanghai, China.

For us it’s fairly easy; we map the Diablo 4 servers to the Korean IP addresses.

Open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file in a text editor as Administrator; then on bottom, add the following line:

59.153.40.74 prod.actual.battle.net

Save it. Now Diablo 4 will connect to the Korean servers. We generally get a Latency between 60ms~250ms. Anything below 250ms makes it playable. (CTRL-R twice in the game, to see your latency).

There are a total of four other Korean IP addresses I know of; so you can try pinging them beforehand to check your speed:

59.153.40.74

59.153.40.90

59.153.40.104

59.153.40.120

You can check/find Korean IP addresses yourself by pinging kr.actual.battle.net

Have fun.

I understand but I tried installing D3 and couldn’t even get it to install

Do you have a link for a windows version download? I’m having trouble finding it and would like to hive this a shot.

Thanks!

Thanks hoss. Finally got this sucker running. Paid enough for it…

what have you changed in the dns settings?
