Plz stop spreading false rumors! Popcorn-Time WAS SAFE and still is safe!

A certain someone is spreading false rumors. They claim that Popcorn-Time is unsafe. But are absolutely wrong.

We Redditors have been downloading our POPCORN from http://popcorn-ru.tk/build/. http://popcorn-ru.tk/build/ is a site from which you can download Popcorn-Time #458. Now this certain someone has claimed #458 is safe which it is but has also claimed Popcorn-Time #413 contains TROJAN. Now I’m not a Popcorn-Time dev but I know for a fact it does not contain TROJAN as I have used that specific build for 4 months with no problem. Now some of you are probably confused as you saw a false virustotal screenshot which stated that POPCORN #413 is dangerous. Now what you saw was nothing but a FALSE POSITIVE. Meaning that virustotal made a mistake!

TRUST ME POPCORN-TIME WAS SAFE AND IS SAFE!
Edit: This photo proves POPCORN #413 is Trojan free here is photo Screenshot 2021 04 29 1 30 06 PM — Postimages!

Edit:The image link above has expired or something!

Yea, I been using popcorn for years now no issue with it and no viruses

Kaspersky always warns me when I download viruses by accident (it blocks the download) and it never flared up because of popcorn time so op is probably right

Btw if you still don’t believe then believe this https://postimg.cc/mtkfwsGJ.

It’s open source, we can see the virus if there was one in it

The movies are not loading after i downloaded it, how do I fix this?

No viruses watched roadhouse and King kong last night

And after 3yrs…

Malwarebytes

Kaspersky is the largest virus itself

And who exactly is combing the code? Not saying it has viruses but being open source doesnt guarantee anything. The linux kernel is one of the most looked at open source projects in the world and even that had an exploit added to it at one point.

Here you go http://popcorn-ru.tk/build/Popcorn-Time-0.4.4_osx64.zip.

ANTIVIRUSES ARE NOT 100% ACCURATE.They look for patterns and behaviour to detect if something suspecious is going on, hence why they can have FALSE POSITIVES.Go to the Viruscan website and even they will talk about false positives.

When a guy says he’s not a Popcorn Time dev and isn’t a mod, which you can clearly see on the right hand side, and you claim he deleted your posts, it shows you have no clue about anything.

You blatantly said “warning” on one of your posts, there didn’t even need to be a warning post in the first place if you knew about false positives and how antiviruses work.

All these people have downloaded Popcorn Time and the mods have proved they are not shonky or hiding anything and your the only person to be suspicious and find something that nobody else has, or the only person to bring attention or a warning to something that doesn’t need to be warned about.

The only thing you know is Jack Schitt.

If you are so sure of what you claim, then why are you deleting the posts where I showed the facts (for those who want to know, it is also on my profile).

I didn’t delete your fu*k*** post I couldn’t do that even if I wanted to!

Edit: Your post https://www.reddit.com/r/PopCornTimeApp/comments/n0qh3l/warning_file_in_github_with_pishing/ was removed by the mods not by me!

Just checked the ZIP for the 0.5.0 version:

Seems fine, including the Malwarebytes check.

You can also download the zip from the MEGA and upload it to virustotal yourself, never trust a randomly-linked or screenshotted virustotal result.

Looks like your link ain’t working anymore!

Of course, there’s always going to be a first person to discover a bug/glitch/exploit. And whether they report it or go about their business is another story. However, you bring up a good point. There’s not as many eyeballs on this as other projects. And now that it seems to be Russian hosted, who knows…

very big performance issue, and usual it get more issues that small virus

Who or what are you talking about? Who’s the stooge of mine? A guy who I have never met or spoken to?

lol … haven’t seen one of these for a while (not since your last one on popcorntime.sh
