When I look at task manager the process starts for a second and then closes again. I read that Rivatuner causes this issue but I dont have Rivatuner. I did have CPUID to monitor my pc but uninstalled them and it still wont launch. I also have Dragon Center, AMD Ryzen Master, and GeForce Experience although I dont know if any of those would be causing the problem in the way Rivatuner did.
This thing worked for me, single click on system try icon for proton vpn then click on Open Proton VPN in the bottom right corner as shown in screenshot below

Which version of the ProtonVPN client did you experience this with? If you’ve already opened a support ticket, in the meantime, please also try the following steps on your device to see if it resolves your issue:
Please enter these commands one by one into your Command prompt, a.k.a CMD (make sure that you right-click on CMD to run it as administrator):
sc config winmgmt start= disabled
net stop winmgmt
Winmgmt /salvagerepository %windir%\System32\wbem
Winmgmt /resetrepository %windir%\System32\wbem
sc config winmgmt start= auto
Afterward, please restart your device and check if you are able to start up the ProtonVPN application.
