PSA: Brave adds its own VPN service to your startup apps regardless of whether you’ve ever used the VPN at all

Shit like this makes me think that I make a mistake choosing this browser. It was suggested to me by a friend, but every day it does something shady again.

As I read they just learnt about the “coding error” and they are going to fix it next update.

oh another “it was by mistake” or “we missed that” case from Brave , the private browser that seems to forget to inform you on what it adds to your startup or your urls

as i always say, brave is shit n this community likes to suck brave dick

Another harmless “mistake”, just like last time. /s

They should be ashamed.

I am switching to Vivaldi today. I am tired with Brave and its shenanigans, I just wanna browse.

It does but if you look in Services it’s not actually running.

One of the reasons I switched from brave fo floorp is them pushing features down my throat

This is the reason that I uninstalled Brave. Nobody told you guys to add those shits. We need a simple browser man. Not bloated shit!
I use thorium now. It’s good.

It’s a bug. The service isnt’ running at all.

Oh, Windows. I was worried for a minute there.

#Manjaro

another PSA: the ceo has bad opinions about lgbtq people

For me, brave has gotten significantly way more buggy graphically. I have weird artifacts on screen and when playing video, all of the white color disappears. It does not happen on any other program or browser.

The only reason I use brave coz as it comes with an ad blocker, if it goes someday so does the brave from my system :joy:

To be fair, any browser that advertises NFTs is probably pretty sus.

They really think we are stupid, are they?

They’ll “fix” it but it will stay as a startup app for those that didn’t notice.

This is why I don’t get why people claim Brave as the most privacy friendly browser. Sure it’s no Chrome, but with pushing its own VPN and crypto? It’s more like they focus on privacy when it comes to third party trackers but have no concern when it’s benefiting themselves. Quite hypocritical if you ask me.
