Not entirely sure when this happened, but I’m unable to get anything going within the client while the VPN is up. I’m using KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, and I’ve gone through the various protocols and settings, and can’t get anything going at all. Magent links don’t download, nothing works within the client. Anyone know how to address this?
first be sure ,the server you are using supports torrenting
It’s the VPN. They don’t support port forwarding.

since when. i had been using it for years and hadnt used it in a few weeks and now it doesnt work…did they provide some kind of update?

Yep, you’ll need to find a VPN that supports port forwarding. Then you can actually connect to the other peers and seeders after putting the port number into the qBittorrent settings. Top recommendations are Mullvad and PIA, but feel free to shop around. /r/VPNTorrents is a sub focused on that.

Ended up going with Nord and now everything works

correct. Ive using Keepsolid for a few years but now its not working…
nord doesn’t support port forwarding ,so you still dont gonna get full potential
next time use vpn which supports port forwarding
Have you had any luck getting keepsolid to work? Been trying for hours to get it to pass data with qbit and it will not work. Tried fresh installs of everything too

Nope. The team and servers are in Ukraine so I wonder if that is causing the issues…
mullvad vpn
port forwarding comes into play when seeders are very low, because port forwarding helps in connecting to more peers hence provide better speed ( for example ,you are downloading a torrent with 1 seeder and 5 users downloading it, then without port forwarding you most likely to connect to only 2-3 ,but with port forwarding,you will connect to all peers hence providing better speed)
but if you are already downloading torrent with many seeders then their will be no compromise on speed
and nord vpn is also good when it comes to speed ,since you already paid then use nord vpn

Used a buddies nord and had no problems. Has to be something on their side
I can get online just can’t get any peer connections. May reach out and see if they have any suggestions
