Shortcut to turn on/off Hotspot Shield VPN when connected to WiFi

Hi there! First time posting here, but I am stumped. I was curious if it is possible to trigger a specific action within an app when the iPhone connects/disconnects from WiFi? The app in question is Hotspot Shield VPN, which has essentially one button/job. To turn on and off its VPN. The issue is, I have to turn it on when I connect to WiFi, and if I disconnect (because cellular data for the app is turned off), absolutely nothing works or comes through that requires a cellular signal until I remember to open the Hotspot Shield app and “cancel” it’s attempt to connect. I cannot use the app with a cellular signal, or it devours data at an incredible rate. And sadly, my data is not unlimited. Is it possible the set up an automatic action, or at least a prompt to a shortcut, that can turn on Hotspot Shield’s VPN when I enter WiFi and disconnect it when I connect to cellular data?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Some VPN apps have shortcuts you could automate. I think Nord did. Not sure about yours

It does not. I used Hotspot Shield is pretty decent. But like you said it doesn’t have that option. I just switched to Nord VPN. You can pick and choose when Nord turns the VPN on and off. That includes Wi-Fi and Cellular Data. And membership pricing is very affordable. I highly recommend it

I’m working on it will update you

Sadly, I don’t believe it does

I would definitely be using something else if I didn’t have Hotspot Shield as a free service with my password manager. How much does it cost per month? Does it absolutely drain your cellular data like Hotspot Shield does when not on wifi?

Thank you very much for responding.

I pay $4.99 monthly and it gives you access to all Nords features.
