I’m admittedly a VPN noob, but I’m curious if anyone out of market in the US has previously had success with using a VPN to watch the Pens via SNP360. I’ve previously watched the games through ESPN+ which has been an annoying experience, and read somewhere that SNP360 has less games blacked out.
Maybe if you had a VPN within the Pittsburgh area and a Pittsburgh billing address?
Not sure if you’d need both, but good luck with the first one.
And maybe you’d need to spoof GPS too…
The only games on SNP360 that are not on ESPN+ are the NHL Network games if I recall. ESPN and Turner games would not be on SNP. Some ESPN matches are on ESPN+ though.
So for out of market/non-Pittsburgh area folks …
Is there a “Disney Bundle” option that gets all of the Disney-based games (ESPN+ and Max/TNT)?
Hulu alone (without Live TV) doesn’t get all of the ESPN+ games, right? So the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle gets the most games (everything but TNT/NBC/ESPN-only/NHL Network), or Disney/ESPN+/Hulu with LiveTV would add NBC? and TNT but would be very expensive.
The new Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle would get Hulu + TNT, but not the bulk of the ESPN+ games.
Is that right? I hate that they make this shit so confusing/difficult … why can’t there just be a single service/subscription for access to everything?
Isn’t out of market the intended use of that?
Yeah I made the silly assumption that there would be one for many major US cities. A bit of a let down
It’s so infuriating. Every person I’ve vented to has been shocked it’s this difficult to pay a company to watch sports.
I did look into ESPN+ again last night and they have a promotion currently for $16/m you get ESPN+, Disney+, and commercial free Hulu (however you don’t get Live TV) and Hulu with live TV is something insane like $80/m which is way beyond where I draw the line of being reasonable.
I think OP meant In market
Agreed. It’s a terrible experience for the consumer. I’ll probably resort to sailing the high seas for those few games I can’t get, but that experience is frustrating, too. I almost never watch live - I delay the start by at least an hour, but you can’t do that with streaming sites, so I typically miss (at least) the entire first period.
Yeah that’s beyond frustrating. I’ll be sailing with you too, Matey!
