Split tunneling for a newbie

Hi!
Apologies for the basic question - I did a quick search beforehand and didn’t come up with an answer.
I’ve not used split tunneling before. On the Windscribe app (Win 11), if I click Connection, Split Tunneling, Exclusive and then IPs and Hostnames, is that where I enter the urls of websites I want to connect to without going through Windscribe? ie. Not through the VPN? Or do I need to put something else there, not the web address of the sites?

Thanks in advance!

If your split tunneling is set to “exclusive”, the addresses you enter will be routed outside of the VPN tunnel, i.e. you will connect to them directly.

Exclusive: everything else, except for these specificly excluded apps/IPs/hostnames, will use a VPN connection.

Inclusive: only these specificly included apps/IPs/hostnames will use a VPN connection.

Thanks! What do I type in the box there, the URL of the website that I want to directly connect to, eg eBay.com?

Yes, exactly!
To test if this actually works, you can enter sites like ipleak.net, which show your current IP address.

If you set it to “exclusive” and add “ipleak.net” as an example, when you head over to ipleak.net, it should show your real IP from your ISP, not your VPN IP. But when you head to another similar site, for example, ifconfig.co, it should show your VPN IP, since you haven’t excluded this address from the VPN tunnel.
