I heard both of these have residential static ip options and can interface with routers. I looked on both sites but didn’t see mention of residential ips. Anyone have any experience with these and their reliability? I see reviews for both with complaints of connection issues and drops.
Well, I definitely would not recommend StarVPN. They are completely unresponsive. Several months ago my auto saved password stopped working and I couldn’t sign in. I did “Forgot Password” and never received any email. So then I contacted support several times and got no response. Then I finally sent physical mail to their address and it got returned to me like it didn’t exist… sooo I would look elsewhere.
To be honest, it would be much better if you host you own VPN server.
Where did you find these reviews? I contacted them but they weren’t much help. My connection keeps dropping. Applications are failing to update because the connection is unstable. I have 3 different IPs and it happens on each. I thought it was because of the region. I used to host my own but it got disconnected at my family member’s house and they seem to be acting a bit funny
Yeah unfortunately I don’t think that would be possible as I don’t have a permanent address. I believe you need to keep the setup in a static location to host your own vpn correct?
I’m sorry to hear of your experience. We did encounter an issue with our SMTP mail provider around the time of this posting, however that issue was only related to contact submission form via our website. A simple email to sales or support at starvpn.com would have been sufficient…we respond to all customers within minutes and up to a max 24 hours.
It could be your house or a family member’s or a friend’s.
