how does my smart tv know im using surfshark? i downloaded surfshark onto my smart tv, connected just fine. all other apps from other countries kept saying ‘‘this is not available in your country’’ when i was connected to their countrys vpn, tried several different places just to see. Same problem still with all of them. google play wont let even let me search for tv apps that are from other countries still with the vpns on. help, whats going on? i checked my devices location, which is turned off so thats not it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hey there. Thank you for reaching out. In this case we’d recommend reinstalling the Surfshark app or changing your connection protocol. To do so, go to the Surfshark app - Settings - VPN Settings - Protocol. If the issue persists, give the other protocols a try as well, or contact our support team for some additional assistance.
You need to change your Google accounts country location in your account settings but you can only do this either once or twice a year… running a VPN won’t get around it.
If you want an app thats not available in your Store then you need to locate the APK on sites like APK mirror and sideload it.
There is nothing wrong with your VPN
