Tailscale traffic not passing through Norton 360

New to Tailscale but I was hoping someone else here has figured out this problem before. I have Norton360 setup on personal computers but I have not been able to connect to remote pcs when the smart firewall is on. Any thoughts? Also I setup a rule to allow TCP and UDP traffic if it matches port 443 and 41641 and that does not work

Trying not to be flippant, but do you really need Norton360? The firewall and virus protection built into modern Windows is pretty decent.

Plus you’d prusambly be protected by the firewall on your home router.

Get rid of useless norton

The issue here is the Malware known as Nord360. You are far better protected by Windows Defender software.

Agree with everyone else on getting rid of Norton as Defender is solid these days

If you have a desire to keep Norton, does the Norton allow you to exclude applications/whitelist them? If so add tailscale to the app whitelist and try to reconnect

Yeah, like everyone else said, you need to stop using Norton

Norton is a scam these days.

The rule says default block Inbound and Outbound ICMP

And yes I agree with everyone here but My TP link router may or may not have a good enough firewall but I will dive into Defender since it comes with Windows. Although I am itching to build a PF Sense router that has 10 gigabit switching capabilities since I finally have 10 gig fiber service in my area. Paying for 2.5 gig though

Well I was able to figure out my issue with Norton 360. It has a rule that blocks all ICMP traffic for some reason and that was not allowing me to ping my machines

Shit, even if you don’t trust Defender for some reason, why on god’s earth would you go with Norton? We’re over 20 years out from that being anything even remotely worth installing. Looks like OP is either in over his head or (I prefer to think) is ready to take the next step. Which is ditch garbage-tier software like Norton!

Well I am new to networking but having fun learning. I know I need to build my own PFsense Router/Firewall and that will be a journey
