The hotel I'm staying in is using Fortinet, how to bypass? Can't even use enterprise VPN

I’m staying in a hotel in the Maldives right now and cannot connect to some websites or any of my VPNs (home and work). Is it possible to bypass these restrictions somehow or is the only way is to contact the local IT service of the hotel?

This community is for administrators of Fortinet equipment. Asking how to bypass is not something that we are here to support and we are not in charge id their equipment.

You will need to talk to the hotel, check local regulations on technologies and deal with them accordingly.

There’s always a hotspot on your phone if you need unrestricted inter access.

I don’t think anyone here is going to help you overcome security measures on an enterprise network. If well built, it’s unlikely any attempt to do so would be successful anyway. Hotspot your phone if possible. That will provide a network connection independent of the hotel’s and allow you to do what you need to do.

In addition to what others are saying, there isn’t enough information to really answer your qeustion anyway. “Fortinet” is the name of a company, not the name of a particular product. Fortinet has many different security related products that could be in play here. Regardless, if the hotel is blocking certain sites and VPN, you’re almost certainly going to have to speak to them directly about it.

You may need to just use your cellullar hotspot.

Dont work when you’re on vacation
