You can connect to a specific server if you know the # using the app.
For example, I typed in Japan # and all the servers came up and I can pick which one to join. I don’t know why they made it like this but at least it works I guess.
There reasoning for the lack of server names is …“We have implemented this change in our new update to balance the loads on our servers”.
I complained to them about the 'Disconnect button - if you click on the ‘Disconnect’ button it disables the auto connect settings, reverting them back to ‘never’ so that they have to be re-set again - this was ignored in their reply. Also we now have to know the ‘flags of all nations’ so that we click on the right one to join the country/server we want, and hovering over the flag opens the name of the server that will be joined. I don’t, for one minute, believe that it is for load balancing, they are just dumbing down the app to cater for an influx of ‘technically challenged’ customers after their advertising promotions.
I uninstalled and reverted back to the previous app.
I’ve had Nord for several years. Every update gives the user less and less control-for the same amount of money that gets automatically recharged even though you have automatic renewal turned off. I will be looking for another vpn soon.
I reported this issue to their customer services as you can’t see the full server number anymore. The other odd UI design is the amount of wasted space, how you cannot resize the window at all and the additional clicking needed to go through settings menus.
pretty sure you def can for diff cities, it’s just that there are various servers in a given city and OP used to be able to manually select a single server #.
