Hi, im a student currectly having my Erasmus in Poland and talking with other Friends the torrenting topic came to discussion. Is It safe to torrent here ? In Spain downloading torrents is safe and VPN IS not needed, How does It works here ? Could we get a fine just by downloading a film ?
technically illegal, but not enforced and torrents are widely used.
Just avoid polish productions - there were instances where bait files were uploaded on the internet just to fine people.
Not only safe. It’s a part of our national tradition.
Avoid torrenting Polish films, that will get the Polish copyrights watchdog on your case in short order.
Just avoid Polish cinematography and some local stuff (if there is even any avaiable) and You will be completly fine. My qbittorrent is showing around few TB of data and I am still going strong.
I have downloaded over 800 gb of porn using torrent
So far everything good
Avoid polish content and you are good
It’s a part of our culture now honestly
Just don’t download polish movies.
Everything else is a wild wild west
Polish ław says that it is a crime to upload any illegal copies of programs, movies, songs etc. so it is a crime since whenever you download something through the torrent you also upload the file and therefore if somebody tracks you down you will most likely face consequences
However law states also that you are allowed to download anything from the internet. Obviously except child porn, funny military classified documents (I am looking at you war thunder players) etc. those DO NOT include any sort of other illegal copies. So as long as you use direct downloads you will be fine. (It is like this because guys who deal with piracy decided that it is impossible to track down all pirates so they decided that whenever you buy a new device which is capable of using internet and downloading through it any files you also pay an additional fee for ability to be a pirate)

Illegal, but absolutely not enforced, VPN is not required, unless you download polish films
As we say, it’s safe as long as you don’t download polish movies.
Real debrid or Usenet ex easynews costs around 3 euro monthly and got all You need. Think about it
Ps if chooses Usenet check for deals it should be around that price
There’s this “downloading for personal use” thing going on. Essentially, mass sharing with the public (seeding included) is a no-no here. You can share in unspecified “small circles” though (e.g. family or student group).
You can download, you can’t share. So seeding is a no no. You need to become a leech.
Torrent all you want, but remember: polak nie seeduje
Torrent veteran here talking. 15+ years torrenting. Past 7 years in Poland. Feel free to use it. Never cared of VPN or other stuff. Every month downloading movies, games, software. Never, ever any issues with government or other instances.
Just don’t torrent polish movies
I downloaded a few games and never had any issues. I use fmovies to watch movies and series and also don’t have any issues. I don’t use any VPN.
I never heard of any such instances, but I’d trust other people comments to be extra careful with torrenting polish stuff (movies, series and whatnot). Sounds legit. Use cda.pl instead then. It used to have everything 10 years ago, but nowadays I don’t even hear about it anymore but they should have the polish stuff.
I did received an warning from my internet provider once ( small regional operator) that im seeding to much at p2p and it may attract attention of police. I just switched vpn on and they where happy.
