since mullvad doesnt give you the option to turn off the kill switch. how do i turn off mullvad so i can watch my streaming services? I used to just quit or turn off but my freaking internet access is cut now…
Use split tunneling. Open up the Mullvad app, click the cog wheel and then split tunneling. A list of your other installed apps should come up and then you just pick the one you want to use temporarily without the VPN.
Edit: Just for clarification, this method keeps the VPN on for everything else and just turns it off for the program you choose.
Edit2: This works on the Linux version (and I assume the Windows version too), but Android does it slightly differently. It should still be fairly easy though.
I guess the option “Lockdown Mode” is activated. Just turn it off and disconnect the VPN. You should have normal access now.
Disabling the kill switch is totally an option in the settings, it seems to be bugged for you, try uninstalling mullvad and if that doesn’t work then there is something else that is wrong. Honestly I’m not quite sure
I don’t see any option that says split tunnel - perhaps because I haven’t updated in awhile? Are these instructions for Beta?
it is disabled and i did do the disconnect app but some how its still running in the background or not allowing an unsecure internet
If your on Android you need to go to settings and turn off “Always on VPN” there should be an option in the mullvad app that takes you to the option in settings
