Using VPN but ISP still sees my activity

I am using my Adguard VPN on my Samsung phone while at home and I download torrents. Spectrum keeps sending me copyright messages and suspends my account until I agree to some message they email me. Is there a reason this is happening??

What I usually do after connecting a vpn is go into google search and put “what’s my IP” and see if it pulls up the VPN IP or your Personal IP then you will know if it is working correctly. Also it may be closing out in the middle of torenting and then pops back up giving enough of a window to where your ISP is catching you. Usually I just use my LTE signal for torrents now days just less of a pain in the ass imo.

Then you aren’t using the vpn correct

Look closely the connection isn’t closed

It’s possible that your VPN is dropping the connection and it’s getting downgraded back to its original connection, i.e., your unencrypted ISP connection. Adguard’s VPN isn’t meant for downloading torrents and is unlikely to ever support it. Judging from this, I’m inclined to believe that you don’t know how VPNs work or how to choose a VPN. I suggest you learn more about VPNs and it seems some of the commenters may agree.

Suggesting using famous company VPN e.g NordVPN, Surfshark. They provide many protocols for you to choose and good for download torrents.

I just bought 5 years of Adguard VPN… I hope they fix this in the future…

I use infobyip.com which is pretty much the same. It shows that my IP is the one I chose from the VPN.

But when I check doileak.com it shows that I have a geolocation leak and my actual location and IP is visible…

Lmao it’s literally one button…

Just tried it. My IP changed but my DNS was still showing up as my ISP DNS

Do you know why my geolocation would still show up? It says there is a leak in my DNS but when I search the DNS it is showing up Google not my ISP

Did they ever fix it?

Free Version of AdGuard VPN doesn’t support Torrent. Either upgrade or stop using it.

VPN can also forward your data to requests just saying.

the free version doesnt support p2p either so they either block p2p via vpn and let it route without vpn or simply forwared your data.

As far as I know, no, so I switched to Proton VPN. Honestly, Adguard was a waste of money. Only the adblock feature works well. Even the DNS is managed by questionable people.

All good just making sure you were still really out there. Saw a mention of a certain FLAC album and couldn’t seem to find any links that worked

Isn’t the android version still in beta

Isn’t the android version of adguard VPN still in beta??

That Beta you’re after is over. Current beta probably to test the performance of the software I believe.

No, you will need to buy it
